This is what we woke up to this morning. Herbie has been looking out of the window and pointing he has never seen snow before ( well he was 2 months old when we had some before). This is unusual for Jersey is this climate change? Not sure what we are doing today might watch Christmas films and eat chocolate. (Forgot to take the washing post in oops).

Thursday, 17 December 2009

Just two cards to post before I am off to the airport to pick daughter Rachael and grandson Herbie up, they are coming in from Guernsey to stay for a few days.
The trees are SU stamps and the tag a Wizard die.
The cherub is an old stamp from Rubbadubadoo painted with H2O`S with a little glitter glue added to the wings for that sparkle.

Monday, 14 December 2009

Today`s cards - The three Graces stamp is from Judikins coloured in with H2o`s the heart punch is a MS. For the other two cards I watercoloured them then added background papers from GCD, Wizard dies for the shapes and I love the Wizard tag dies.
It has gone very cold here today and our newspaper said to expect wintery showers, stay in I think with a cup of tea and a chocolate bar and perhaps make cards !!!

I was not happy with the frame so have made some adjustments by adding more flowers and a flourish. Herbie is coming over this Thursday, he is walking now. God help the Christmas tree lol

Saturday, 12 December 2009

All present shopping finished today, cards posted, tree and decorations up just Christmas food to sort out and I am almost there.
Three cards today, the bird and the turtle are Sizzix dies, the tree I cut from the Cricut. The black and white card stamp is Hero arts and the shape cut from a Sizzix die. I also used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the dots, I think this is my favorite embossing folder of all time so useful. I am just about to knit another snowball scarf, while watching Columbo on TV, for my daughter as the one I knitted for her has gone to South Africa for a present.

Friday, 11 December 2009

This card is mostly done with Sizzix dies, the card front the bird and the frames all Sizzix, the sentiment punches are SU.

Today`s card is a stamp by www.nellies-choice.com coloured in with copics. The card front shape is a Sizzix die and a MS punch for the edge border, finished off with ribbon and a button.

Snips, snails and puppy dog tails - Cute card Thursday

Having 5 grandsons this is appropriate for me. Check out Cute card Thursday`s blog HERE
The stamp is Manga boy from Funky Kits coloured in with copics the spider is a Sizzlit.

Good morning, it is cold and windy today a good day to stay in and create. Peter still has his cough but is looking much better today the Tamiflu seems to be working and no side effects great.
I ran out of craft card so bought a roll of craft wrapping paper and it works perfectly well for stamping on. The flower card - stamps SU with flower soft, Sizzix die cut shape - pleating (we did this on the Scrapagogo crop) measure 1" then 1/2" score and pleat. The background colourcore card first I embossed with a cuttlebug then sanded back.
Butterflies are a Wizard die then stamped over. Stamps SU, punch MS.

Saturday, 28 November 2009

The background embossing is cuttlebugs, the flower, first I stamped the SU dotty stamp, embossed with white opaque and cut with a Sizzix flowers die, the heart is also a Sizzix die done on mountboard, the scallop and dot border punches are MS.
The frame is Ornate frame 2 from Sizzix, the butterfly a Wizard die, the sentiment `Bloom` is Su.

The papers are My Minds Eye, the stamps are SU black inked and embossed clear.

The papers are My Minds Eye, I added a flourish with black ink and clear embossing powder. The hearts are Sizzix, I did sew a zig zag down the middle but you can hardly see it. MS punch and SU sentiments

First a big Happy Birthday to my daughter Michelle, she has had a tough year this year going through a divorce but now it is over and she can get on with her life with her three gorgeous boys.
The sewing machine came out of the cupboard first time in years for these cards. The thank you card I cuttlebug embossed the reverse side of the patterned paper then sponged over with black ink. The border is a MS punch. The flower is a wizard die I distressed the edges and added a button, the sentiment is a SU also their punches.
The other card I stamped and white embossed a flourish onto the patterned paper, the flower is a Sizzix cut with mountboard after gluing on some matching paper then adding a button. I then did sewing stitches round the edge of the two cards. I might have to keep it out as I do like this effect.

Friday, 27 November 2009

The butterfly is a Wizard die, on the pink card I have also done this in vellum.

Just off to the Doctors with Peter we have to have Tamiflu. We have to sit in the car outside the surgery and he will ring us on my mobile then we are straight in. My grandson Matthew who has just gone to South Africa for 3 months rang last night to say he has Swine flu also his friend Stephen, poor darlings. They thought they had a hangover as they had been partying for 3 days before they went. The doctor has to now inform the airlines they travelled on. Oh dear, can it get any worse!!!!
Stamps SU red inked then clear embossed. Wizard shapes
Tree stump hand cut. Birds inkadinkado. Zig zag punch MS, sentiments SU.

Flowers cut with mountboard and a Sizzix die then inked over. The leaf is a punch.

Wednesday, 25 November 2009

Thanks Liz for letting me ink up this stamp, I coloured in with copics.

My poor Peter has the flu and his operation for tomorrow has been cancelled and put back until February.

The Saturday crop with the Scrapagogo girls was amazing we did five projects (one of them above) and they left us a project to do and download to them with a fabulous prize for the winner, fingers and toes crossed. It is a trip to the UK and a crop with them for the weekend.

Friday, 20 November 2009

It is a wet stay at home sort of a day today. Tomorrow is the Scrapagogo day doing 5 layouts cannot wait.
For these two cards I used the MS corner and border punch. The Christmas card is a Sizzix embossing folder and the New Home stamp is from Home and Heart stamps which I coloured in using copics. Hope you all have a lovely weekend thanks for visiting.
JUST NOTICED I HAVE PUNCHED THE CORNER WRONG ON THE CHRISTMAS CARD - SILLY ME

Wednesday, 18 November 2009

I love these Glimmer Screen stencils, there are two in a packet and this packet is called Garden Lattice. I sponged over first in brown then a soft pink moving the stencil the second time round.
The rose stamp is from Stick and Stamp coloured in with H2O`s. Looking forward to playing with the glimmer mist sprays on them.

CUTE CARD THURSDAY - GLITTER ME SILLY

These stamps I got free, yes free with a magazine, I love the sentiment size. The challenge this week is glitter me silly, well you all know I just love glitter so not hard for me to do. The frame is a Nellie die, really liking these and they can be cut on a Bigshot, Cuttlebug or Wizard.
We are out for a family meal tonight as my grandson Matthew is off to South Africa for 3 months, this will be first time he will not be with us on Christmas day for 20 years. He is going with his friend Stephen to visit Stephen`s mum and new step dad. They have arranged for them to go white water rafting on Christmas Day. I do hope they take loads of photos for my scrapbooking.

Monday, 16 November 2009

I am now counting the days until Scrapagogo come to Jersey. These are a few cards made today with the group. The purple bauble is just wrapping paper cut with a Sizzix die.

Such a reflection not sure how to stop this with gold and silver shinny card. Any tips would be welcome. The Christmas trees are a Sizzix embossing die done in silver and gold then cut out elements to overlay. The flower is a Stampendous holiday quad cube stamp painted in h2o`s, the embossing is a Cuttlebug. The `stitching` round the edge is from the Scor Pal tool. Sentiments are SU.
Windy here today I think we got off lightly compaired to the UK with their winds and rain. A good day for making cards the ladies are coming round for just that and a spot of lunch. Have a good day.
Not a good photo sorry. I love the Nellie multi frames from www.nellies-choice.com, it cuts out four shapes, there are four different designs. The stamp is SU plus a little flower soft the background was embossed with a Sizzix embossing plate.

Friday, 13 November 2009

The stamp is a Funky Kits coloured in with copics. A nesstie for the scallop circle, the other circles I did with a SU circle cutter, they are so easy to use as long as you remember to tape the card down you are cutting so it does not move. I also used a SU pricking template for round the edge.
Saturday is a scrapbooking crop all day, wonderful, next weekend we have the Scrapagogo girls coming over from the UK I am so excited. We are doing 5 classes, I have organised all the photos I need and will hopefully put the finished layouts on the blog for you to see.
We are expecting high winds tomorrow so a good day for scrapbooking I think. Have a nice weekend and hope you will drop by again.

Thursday, 12 November 2009

Not forgetting the men in your life, how could we!!!
These stamps are from Woodware called Looking Good, the paper selection is from GCD. I coloured in using copics, having tried different ink pads with the copics, Stazon makes the inks `bleed` I think Memento - tuxedo black works well for me. Just off to the beach for a walk with my son`s boxer dog Marley.

PLANET 51 the film.

This is the invitation to the film Planet 51 which Peter and I attended last night. Lots of lovely food and drink in a cosy small cinema in one of our local hotels. Our 7 year old grandson Jake will love it. It is really funny in parts and well worth a see. The `proper` premiere in London is on the 20th November with the stars attending who are Jessica Biel, Gary Oldman, John Cleese and Dwayne Johnson.

Tuesday, 10 November 2009

ANOTHER TREE ANOTHER PUNCH

The fern punch is by McGill. First I stamped the tree then punched out the ferns from gold glitter wrapping paper from W.H. Smith, glue just on the end to give dimension. The background dot embossing is a Sizzix and the papers are from a stash I had. Wizard shapes to finish off.

Monday, 9 November 2009

It is our wedding anniversary today 41 years married to Peter OMG. We have known each other 46 years as we worked together in a lawyers for 5 years before we married. After two years babies came one after the other I had three under three. The day we married it was thick fog and icy and today the sun is shinning (global warming I think). I am spending the day scrapbooking with my lovely ladies while Peter is working. Hope you all have a good day.

Sunday, 8 November 2009

U-mount mini swirl stamps and a Sizzix bauble die for these cards very quick to do. I did emboss the swirls in silver and gold to give them a bit more elegance.

The tree stamps are SU and the inks used to sponge the backgrounds were Adirondack denim and sail boat blue. For the moon I masked out a circle. I added a touch of a white gel pen for the snow effect.
It is very showery here today and I find it has gone cold just put the heating on.
Exciting news on Tuesday night Peter and I are going to the premiere of `Planet 51`a movie. The firm Peter works for raised the finances for the production of the film, the company are the makers of the film Shrek and I loved that film, I will let you know if I liked it.
I bought this set of snowmen from Papermania, I do not normally by ready mades but could not resist these three guys. I have added further embellishments to them as they had no hands and holly. The background embossing is a cuttlebug. I think they will do nicely for my grandsons.

Check out Leah`s blog HERE she shows you how to make these flowers from tissue paper an old book and glimmer mist sprays. I cut my shape using a Sizzix scallop die, the flower on the left I cut using the Cricut to get a template but I prefer the Sizzix size. I have not decided what to put in the middle as yet at the moment just punched out a shape. I need to buy some green and orange glimmer mist as I cannot use this colour on everything can I.
Just off to the Osteopath this should be the last visit today as my neck has greatly improved only hurts when I iron, any offers !!!!!

KNITTING IS TAKING OVER

Sue brought round a lovely scarf she had made in a couple of hours, so off I went to buy some wool. It is not exactly the same wool as Sue`s as she bought hers in the UK. My daughter Michelle saw it and has claimed it when finished, I intended to put it in her Christmas stocking. I did all this in just one hour with help from Sue with the casting on (not sure where the bobble was supposed to go). The make of the wool is Sirdar - Snowball and only 5 stitches could not be simpler, knit a row, pearl a row. Any wool left will probably go on a card LOL.
Not sure where my Widget Christmas tree has gone from the right hand panel.

Tuesday, 3 November 2009

A pine punch card (see cards below) using a fiskars holly border punch.

PINE PUNCH

The pine punch is made by McGill size 1" x 1 1/2". First I stamp a Christmas tree then layered the punched shapes made from vellum and paper to give dimension and interest. Snow and glitter was then added to the tree. The background I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder
The bauble is a Sizzlit and the texture background also a Sizzix embossing mat.

Another stamp set from Stampendous called Ribbon trees, I coloured this in with H2`os. The background paper has lovely glittered snowflakes which does not show up well on the photo, the sentiment is also from the set and the background holly embossing is a Sizzix texture plate.
Enjoy your Sunday.

1st November would you believe this year has gone soooo fast. I am having a `white` day today with the Christmas cards.
The top card is a u-mount stamp from Creative Expressions, I love this snowman he is just a bit different from the norm, I have used him on numerous occasions last year and this so good value for money hey.
The second card is a set from Stampendous called Winter trees and of course I had to use my nessties.
We had a workshop yesterday making cards all afternoon total joy. Thank you ladies for joining us I hope you made lots.

Thursday, 29 October 2009

Another punch and more flowers. You need to punch out 10 (paper not card) fold them in half. Cut a circle with a punch and place four interlocking round the edge (the folded in half ones). The next 3 interlock so that there is a triangle in the middle the last three fold into quarters and glue into the middle. Tease out all the petals.
The flowers a few posts down I did with a Sizzix die this flower is a punch. The white flower is vellum and the chocolate flower is a lovely pearl paper but does not photograph well, I also added guess what a bit of glitter just round the edge of the petal. People who know me know I just love a bit of sparkle.

Monday, 26 October 2009

This card was going to be a challenge sketch but developed differently. Do you do that you start of with an idea in your mind and come up with something quite the opposite. The stamp is a Magnolia coloured in with copics. The gate a Sizzix die sponged with inks, the vine a Wizard die, a Cuttlebug background embossing and Sizzix sentiment stamp.

Good morning, I have just come back from the Osteopath as I have a trapped nerve in the nape of my neck. Boy did she pull me about but do you know it know feels a little better, I have exercises I have to do until I see her next week. This all stems from the way I walked when I had trouble with my foot. So walk tall like someone is pulling you up by a string that is the advice she gave me, enough of the medical stuff and back to the card. The stamp is from The Greeting Farm coloured in with copics. The loopy border and corner punch is a MS, the gears stamp is SU the dimensional gears are a Sizzix die with shinny silver card attached underneath, which you cannot see the effect very well on this photo.
Hope you all have a super weekend.

GET CRAFTY CLUB CARDS

A good night last night although the parking was terrible not from our ladies but a group of men taking all our spaces. Well enough of that Christmas was in the air,the Christmas tree was done using the Glitter girls embossing board, vellum was attached underneath and lots of glitter added. The reindeer is a Sizzix die and the row of houses a punch by MS. The cat stamp is Stampendous again glitter added for that little sparkle, we all looked like fairies going home, covered in the stuff.

Monday, 19 October 2009

I love these Sizzix clear stamp faces, super cute. I have used them with the Wizard sunflower and the Sizzix plant pot.

Sunday, 18 October 2009

I have seen this flower done with a 6 petal flower punch but seeing as I have not got one, believe it or not, I used a Sizzlit die cut twice. One of the petals needs a piece to be cut out and some thin double sided tape attached to allow you to overlap. I then inked up the edge of the petals. The shape it is resting on is also a Sizzix die and the background a Sizzix embossing folder done with my new Texture Boutique embossing machine also Sizzix.
We had a lovely weekend with Rachael and Herbie although Herbie is teething and cut a back tooth while he was here. Poor darling was in pain and we had a few tears.

What a difference a day makes, yesterday was beautiful and sunny and today is dull with leaves falling off the trees. Is this the end of summer?
Back to the card. The snowman and sentiment stamp is from http://www.stampbarn.com/ sent over from Canada by Danielle (Liliana`s daughter) I coloured this in with pearl paints and added a little sparkle. The background design I stamped with a set from QVC by Artemio which is my favorite set at the moment. The mounting is a Wizard die and the snowflake on the bottom is also a wizard die the other two are brads.

Monday class met on Tuesday this week as I had to go to the Hospital about my foot. Good news there I have been discharged, even though it still hurts a little I have to get moving on it, so lots of walking for me.
Christmas cards again - the nativity is a set of stamps by Stampendous which I inked up and did the background with chalks for a softer effect.
The snowman is a Cuttlebug die and the trees from a company called Artemio I bought from
QVC.

Yet more Christmas cards. I do this start making them now and by the time October comes I am fed up doing them.

The church was inked up with Stazon then watercoloured. I rubbed a versamark over the top and sprinkled holographic embossing powder then heat set. The choir boys are watercoloured. The shapes are the new Wizard dies.

Christmas is coming. The papers are a mix of Anna Griffin and Papermania Joyeux noel collection. The bauble is cut on the Cricut and the trees are Stampin Up stamps. I used my new Wizard dies to cut the shapes don`t you just love them.
Peter and I attended a lovely wedding yesterday at the L`Horizon which is a hotel right on the beach. I sat eating my meal watching the tide come in and a handful of surfers, just perfect. The bride looked gorgeous would you believe she had lost 2 stones in weight, good on her, after only having a baby 8 months ago.

My grandson Jake at the Amaizin Maze in Jersey would you believe he is 7 at Christmas and almost as tall as me. Just started back in year 2 at school and loves his new class, all boys, the poor teacher.

My lovely daughter in law Clare with their Boxer dog Marley enjoying her ice cream. The ice cream cones I cut on the Cricut and textured with Cuttlebugs also added buttons for the cherry.

We had Monday cardmaking today here are two cards I made, the rest of the time was spent playing with the Cricut machine, lots of talking and lunch. If you do not have a die cutting machine the Cricut is a great investment. I have been cutting my name in adhesive vinyl letters to put on my cartridges. Also for patchworkers you can cut fabric shapes and do glass etching. Stop Lorraine you sound like a TV advert.

The stamps are from Inkadinkado. bought from Michaels, Florida. I am going to make a card with each one, these are just a few. I really like all the designs they should be very useful. I stamped them first with black ink then embossed with clear powder, used some of the Martha Stewart punches for interest.

I seemed to be eating all the time and not always healthy choices but that is what holidays are for. My friends Kath and Paul are still staying with me and go home Wednesday then hopefully I can get back to doing some crafting, I have loads of ideas ready in my head just watch this space.

Two more wall hangings I did at scrapbooking on Saturday, I intended doing one for grandson Jake but do you think I can find his photos, I have put them somewhere safe !!!
I have actually taken the bottom bit off the blue design as I was not keen on it and made it shorter.
